Abstract

897,104. Automatic temperature control systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 23, 1960 [June 25, 1959], No. 21864/59. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XL (c)] A " chopper type " amplifier (see Group XL (c)) is provided with means for stabilizing the operating temperature of a temperaturesensitive element in the input chopper, to reduce D.C. shift. As shown, the input chopper 7 is mounted in good thermal contact with a further transistor 33, and both are surrounded by a heating coil 34. Changes in current through transistor 33 due to temperature variations are used to control the heater coil current via transistors 36, 35 to stabilize the temperature of the input chopper 7. The transistor 33 may be replaced by a temperature-sensitive resistor or Zener diode.
