911,711. Automatic temperature-control systems for space heating. RHEOSTATIC CO. Ltd. March 22, 1961 [May 12, 1960], No. 16817/60. Class 38 (4). An automatic temperature control device for a space heating system comprises two thermostats 1, 5, the thermostat 1 being arranged outside the space and the thermostat 5 inside the space, each thermostat being provided with a supplementary electric heater so arranged that the heater 4 of the outside thermostat 1 is only energized when the outside thermostat is made on the " cold " contact 3 and the inside thermostat 5 is simultaneously made on the " hot " contact 8 whereas the heater 9 of the inside thermostat 5 is energized only when the inside thermostat is made on the " cold " contact 7, the supply of heating current for the space being controlled by a relay 10. A further supplementary heater may be provided in the thermostat 1 to bias its operation.
