908,530. Electrically heated bailing plates. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNG G.m.b.H. Jan. 25, 1961, No. 2987/61. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XXXV] A circuit for flash heating and subsequently regulating a heating element 1 comprises a thermal regulator 2, 6, the heater 2 of which is series/parallel connected with resistors 4, 12 and a positive temperature coefficient resistor 3 in thermal relation with element 1. During the flash heating time overheating of the resistor 3 diverts more current into the heater 2 disconnecting the element 1. After the flash heating time delay switch contacts 11 unshunt and shunt respectively resistors 4, 12. Resistor 4 may be part of the heater 2, which heater may alternatively be parallel connected with resistor 12 and a switch in series. Contacts 7, 8 may be provided to open the circuit when the cooking time has expired. The timing mechanism may be of clockwork type.
