Abstract

1470296 Thermal switches EGO ELEKTRO-GERATE BLANCH U FISCHER 1 March 1974 [5 March 1973] 9283/74 Heading H1N A control for a hot plate 11 with first and second heating elements P1, P2 comprises an adjustable regulator 17 with a contact 22 adjustable by a manual setting member 19 to vary the heat output of the hot plate, a separate contact 25 actuated by member 19 to connect the two elements P1 and P2 in parallel and a manual time switch 18 in parallel with contact 25 for energizing the element P2 for a predetermined time period independently of contact 25. Elements P1 and P2 are of low and high power and the latter has an overheat bimetal switch 12. Member 19 operates cam spindle 20 carrying a cam 21 controlling a switch contact 22 through a bimetal member heated by resistor 23, a cam 24 controlling a contact 25, a cam 28 controlling an on/off contact 29 and a cam 35 controlling the bimetal member 32 of time switch 18, which member is heated by resistance 31. A diode 24<SP>1</SP> may be connected in series with the resistors 23, 31 to reduce the voltage thereon.
