Abstract

886,471. Centrifugal governors. ATELIERS DE LA MOTOBECANE. Aug. 24, 1960, No. 29264/60. Class 57. [Also in Group XXVII] A cylindrical rotary valve 8, Fig. 3, controlling the entry of mixture to a two-stroke crank-casecompression internal-combustion engine has combined therewith a centrifugal governor 12 which closes the valve outlet at a predetermined speed. The valve is integral with a plate 9, Fig. 2, having a forked arm 10 which is engaged by an extension of the crank-pin 3 to drive the valve, the governor 12 comprising a sliding spring-loaded plate with slots 13 engaging pins 13 on the plate 9. One end of the plate is formed as a centrifugal weight 20. In a modification, Fig. 6, the valve 8 is driven through the governor plate 22 which has a forked end 10 engaged by the crank-pin 3. In Fig. 8, the governor comprises a pivoted spring- loaded lever 28 carried by the plate 9, the weighted end 26 of the lever causing the end 29 of the lever to close the valve outlet at the predetermined speed.
