Abstract
164,355. Volz, K. June 9, 1920, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-A mixing-device mounted directly on the carburettor comprises a bulbshaped casing a, b containing a fan c mounted on an axially-moving shaft d carrying a ring k controlling additional air ports i. The shaft d is mounted in bearings g<1>, g<2>, carried by shackles u secured to the casing a and is provided with an abutment n for a spring m. The ring k may be provided with conical studs which project into the air ports i. The air supply may be regulated also by a hand-actuated ported ring p. Under engine suction, the fan revolves and also lifts, thus opening the air ports. The casing b is provided with diametrically opposite inspection windows r.
