Abstract

881,013. Two-part couplings. SUPERFLEXIT Ltd. Jan. 28, 1960 [Feb. 6, 1959], No. 4281/59. Class 38 (1). In an end fitting including an inner nipple 6 and an outer sleeve 7 between which the end of an insulating conduit 3 is gripped, conductors 2 for connection to a multi-pin or socket head 1 are contained in the conduit 3 and have individual screening braids 10 and a common metallic outer tubular screen 11, the end of which is gripped between inner and outer sleeves 12, 13, the latter having a peripheral flange 15 which is sandwiched hetween the end of the nipple 16 and a retaining nut 16 in threaded engagement with the sleeve 7. Projecting fingers 18 formed on the sleeve 12 are bent around and soldered to the individual conductor screens 10 which are thereby earthed by way of the outer screen 11. If the end fitting itself is not to be earthed an insulating washer 17 may be interposed between the screening sleeve 13 and the retaining nut 16.
