Abstract

879,631. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. PRECISION VALVE CORPORATION. Dec. 7, 1959 [Dec. 8, 1958], No. 41426/59. Class 102(2). An aerosol type container is made by forming the container portion 12 with an upwardly flared portion 16 having an opening 15 into which a valve unit 9 is introduced after filling the container. The unit 9 has a shoulder 10c which rests on the edge of the opening 15 and by applying pressure to the unit 9 the portion 16 is bent inwardly to contract the opening 15 so that its periphery grips the unit 9 and hermetically seals it to the container. A groove 11 may be formed in the unit 9 and a sealing washer may be fitted in the groove. The unit 9 is made from hard plastic material. The valve unit may be fitted with a cap.
