[Class 135] A lift valve member for a screwdown tap comprising a metal cup 4 for holding the sealing washer and a stem 1 on the cup has the stem 1 formed as a tubular member having a shoulder 5 formed on the tube for bedding on the outside of the cup when the inner end of the stem is riveted over on the inside of the cup. The stem may be formed from an oblong sheet metal blank by a drawing process.
