530,016. Covers for resisting fluid pressure. THOMPSON WATER TUBE BOILERS, Ltd., J., and PLUMMER, G. A. June 14, 1939, No. 17394. [Class 123 (i)] A conical plug 10 for closing an aperture 3 in a pressure vessel 1 is of smaller diameter than the aperture and is pressed against a contractible sealing sleeve 4 seating in the flared inner end of the aperture by a nut 17 screwed on the plug shank 7 and bearing against a bush 13, which has an inner portion 14 fitting into the sealing sleeve. The sleeve may be made of closely wound square-section copper or other metal wire.
