Abstract

877,797. Perforating apparatus. NAGAI, K. March 9, 1959, No. 8088/59. Class 31 (2). [Also in Groups XX and XXIV] In film perforating apparatus wherein uniform rotation of a gear-wheel 9, Fig. 1, loose on a shaft 8 is converted into intermittent rotation of a film-forming wheel 21 on the shafts, a ratchet wheel 12 fixed on the shaft is coupled to the wheel 9 by springs and is alternately held and released by a spring-loaded pawl 16, Fig. 6, on a fixed pivot so that the springs are alternately compressed and released to rotate the wheel 12, the release being periodically effected as the wheel 9 rotates by rollers 19 on the wheel 9 engaging the tail of the pawl. The springs 11, Fig. 4, coupling the wheels 9, 12 are mounted in arcuate recesses in the wheel 9 and are engaged by tongues 14 projecting from the face of the wheel 12. As shown, the wheel 12 has four ratchet teeth, the wheel 9 has four rollers 19, and the wheel 9 is driven through a one-to-four reduction gear train by a shaft 2 carrying an eccentric 23 actuating a punch 24 for perforating the film which is fed by the wheel 21.
