Printing-apparatus for measuring-machines; number-printing apparatus.-A device for measuring the length of woven material is provided with printing-wheels arranged eccentrically on disks mounted on the main shaft of the counter, the units wheel being advanced by a brake wheel, which is held for a short period once every revolution by a sliding piece actuated by a cam on the main shaft. A driving-wheel 19 and disks 3, 3<1> are secured to the main shaft 2 ; the disks are provided with printing- wheels 4, 4<1>, the units wheel 4 of which has a wheel 5 gearing with a wheel 6 loose on the shaft 2. The wheel 6 has teeth 7 adapted to be engaged by a sliding piece 8, so that when this piece 8 is moved forward by the cam 18 on the shaft 2, the wheel 6 is held fast and allows the wheel 5 to rotate the units wheel through one unit. The spindle 12, carrying the printing-wheel has a camwheel 13 which presses the type-plungers 14 outwards, and is provided with a rigid arm 15 engaging the shaft 2 so as to prevent the spindle 12 from turning. The printing-wheels can be brought back to zero by turning the hand-wheels 16, 16<1>.
