Abstract

876,555. Electric radiators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 14, 1960 [Jan. 19, 1959], No. 1900/59. Class 39(3). In an electric radiant heater including a main frame, the front of which exposes an electric heating element, and a reflector, the reflector has adjustment means enabling it to be adjustably positioned in the main frame behind the heating element. In the arrangement shown two sheathed wire elements 4 are mounted in front of a reflector 5 of polished aluminium to each end of which is riveted a plate 6 having two pairs of pressedout projections 7 which accommodate the two prongs of a U-shaped fixing member 8. The member 8 at one end of the reflector 5 is fixed whereas the member 8 at the other end is slidable in the projections 7 thus enabling the prongs to be disengaged from holes 10 and engaged in holes 9 which provide an alternative position for the reflector which 'may also be removed for cleaning. The reflector may alternatively be made of chromium-plated brass or steel or of anodized aluminium.
