Abstract
1,223,712. Water heater casings. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. 10 May, 1968 [13 May, 1967], No. 22183/68. Heading F4A. The rear wall 10 of a gas-heated water heater is provided with lugs 25 . . . 30, formed by bent back parts of the wall, for fixing components housed within a front shell 11. The lugs are formed in flat portions 21 . . . 23 of the rear wall 10 pressed out towards the front shell 11. The lugs are strengthened by corrugations (36), Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), extending across the lines of bend between the lugs and the rear wall and corrugations (37) extending longitudinally along the lugs. The lug 25 is bent perpendicular to the rear wall and has a depending free end which serves to fix the burner 14 against twisting. The lugs 26 have openings (31), Figs. 3 and 4, to receive and secure screwed pipe couplings 32 of the water pipe coil 33 passing around the combustion chamber 15. The lugs 27 to 30 have apertures 35 for screws for securing the back-draught safety device 16 and the waste gas connection 161. Channels 38 and 201 pressed in the rear wall 10 provide for the passage of air between the rear wall and a wall on which the heater is mounted, projections 17 of the rear wall contacting the mounting wall. A pressed-out flat portion 19 of the rear wall is provided with an aperture 18 for receiving a mounting hook.
