Abstract
1,165,178. Steam and hot water boilers. AMERICAN RADIATOR & STANDARD SANITARY CORP. 19 Nov., 1966 [2 Feb., 1966], No. 45154/66. Heading F4A. A triple pass steam or hot water boiler 10, comprises a burner 12 mounted in the end wall 13 of combustion chamber 11. Gases from the combustion chamber 11 pass into a receiver chamber 14 then back through one or more return conduits 15 to header 16. From header 16 the gases pass through smoke tubes 17 to exit through header 18 and flue 19. In a modification (Fig. 6) the receiver chamber is dispensed with, the gases passing directly from the end of the combustion chamber through a return duct to a collection header for subsequent passage through the smoke tubes.
