911,153. Electric convector-heaters; reflector stoves. HAWKINS & CO. Ltd., L. G. April 4, 1961 [April 1, 1960], No. 11573/60. Classes 39 (3) and 126. A radiant heating element G in a convector heater is mounted behind a transparent panel 6, e.g. of glass, through which heat is radiated, and a baffle 11 is provided to direct part of the air entering an inlet 16 over the inner surface of the panel 6. The heater unit comprises side-plates 1 interconnected by a rear wall 2 and cross-members 3 and 4 and removably mounted in a casing 14 the rear of which is preferably closed by a detachable perforated panel 17. A decorative panel 7 may conceal the connections of a grille 5 and the panel 6 to the member 4. A plane or ribbed reflector 10 and baffles 12 and 13 are provided, and air enters through a perforated bottom plate 16. The element or elements G may comprise a winding located in a groove in the surface of a ceramic tube. Two windings may be provided and switched independently under the control of a thermostat.
