Abstract

1,059,517. Electric storage heaters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 13, 1965 [Oct. 1, 1964], No. 39999/64. Heading F4U. A thermal storage space heater comprises a plinth 2 in the form of a hollow metal casing supporting on its upper surface heat storing blocks 7 with air flow paths 35 registering with apertures 21 in the upper surface, the plinth housing the electrical controls and supporting demountable front and side panels 3, 5 and a cover 6. A fan in the plinth forces air through the blocks, the hot air issuing from an outlet 16. A partition extending longitudinally of the plinth has apertures controlled by thermostatically operated dampers to permit cool air to mix with the hot air which has passed through the blocks. Lagging 28 is provided between the blocks and the casing.
