Abstract

871,452. Cartons. TILLOTSONS (LIVERPOOL) Ltd. Dec. 23, 1959 [Oct. 7, 1958], No. 31896/58. Class 18. A carton made from the blank shown in Fig. 4 has partitions 5, 6 formed from the upper parts of walls 1, 3 and 2, 4, the partitions being folded across the carton as shown in Fig. 1 and secured to the opposite wall 1 or 2. The base flaps interlock and parts 22, 23 are stuck to parts 24, 25 so that when a collapsed carton is erected the base flaps interlock at corners 28, 29 automatically. In an alternative construction Fig. 6, the portions 5, 6 have handles 35, 36 extending therefrom with a part 38 that is passed through the other handle opening 37. The base of the carton may have the usual form of tongue-and-slot connections on over-lapping flaps as shown in Fig. 6. In a further construction, the partitions 5, 6 may be in interfacial contact forming a single partition of double thickness.
