Abstract

1,196,422. Cartons. BARFORD JOINERY MILLS Ltd. 9 May, 1968 [15 May, 1967], No. 22403/67. Heading B8P. A carton for tetrahedron-shaped packages comprising a flat bottom, an internal transverse strengthening rib and an inwardly and upwardly inclined internal partition, Fig. 3, is erected by circumferentially folding a blank, Fig. 1. Panels 5A, 11, 12 and 2A, 9, 10 are folded inwardly and upwardly to form the internal partition with the panels 9, 10, 11, 12 overlying flat bottom forming panels 1A, 3A, 4A, 6A respectively, whilst panels 9A, 10A overlie the panels 12, 11 respectively. The strengthening rib is formed by one half of a panel 15 engaging between panels 13, 14 whilst the other half lies alongside the panel 14. An end 8 may be curved to provide a tapering carton. In a modification, Fig. 4, the blank has cut-aways 39-42 which provide an inwardly facing central recess, between flat bottom forming panels 21A, 23A, 24A, 26A to engage a turntable boss.
