A collapsible carton has flaps 28, 30, 32 and 34 extending from that edge of each wall 12, 14, 16, 18 which is remote from the base such that when the carton is erect the flaps project inwardly substantially at right angles to the walls and the flaps interlock with one another at the corners of the carton (see Fig. 1, not shown). Acute-angled V-shaped cuts 52 are made at the free corners of flaps 32 and 34, and obtuseangled V-shaped cuts 54 are made in flaps 28 and 30. The flaps interlock with side 56 of V- shaped cut 52 underlapping side 58 of V-shaped cut 54. Score lines 44 extend at 45 degrees from the lower corners of the carton to facilitate folding of the side walls.
