864,299. Cartons. GILBEY Ltd., W. & A., and DE MAJO, W. M. Oct. 7, 1957, No. 31265/57. Class 18. A carton of the general type described in Specification 843,778 is modified in that two opposed end flaps are formed at their outer edges with one or more spacer tabs, depending into the inside of the carton when the flaps are folded to a closed position so that they act as abutments to engage an end of an article within the carton. In one form, opposed end flaps 2 are formed each with two tabs 3 ; in another embodiment, (see Fig. 6), each end flap 2 has a single tab 3 provided with a cutout 7, the pair of cut-outs 7 locating a bottletop between them when they depend into the carton. The carton ends may both be fitted with such flaps, or one may be as described in Specification 843,778 of any known construction.
