Abstract

903,931. Box partitions. REED CARTONS Ltd. Feb. 24, 1961 [Feb. 26, 1960], No. 6871/60. Class 18. The partition shown in Fig. 2 is formed from the blank shown in Fig. 1 by folding along lines 4, 5 so that the portion 1 is sandwiched between portions 2 and 3 and bending portions 6-9 about fold lines 15, 16. The central portion which is of three thicknesses may be stapled together, secured by a contact adhesive, or held from unfolding by a tongue 17 engaging a slot 18. In a modification, flaps such as 6-9 can be separated from any position along the length of the central partition and not only from the ends thereof as is shown in Fig. 2; the flaps can be staggered on opposite sides of the central partition. A sub-division formed as described above may be further sub-divided by fitting a similar but smaller partition member therein. Additional slotted transverse members can be used in conjunction with the partition member described. The blank may be folded concertina-wise.
