Abstract

930,050. Cartons. UNIPAK CARTONS Ltd. Feb. 20, 1962 [Dec. 28, 1961], No. 6619/62. Class 18. In a carton having a retractable carrying handle, a cut, scored and adhesively coated blank 25, is secured by portions 35, 35<SP>1</SP> to the outer casing, these portions being joined to the blank by scored spacing members 34 and freely movable tabs 32. In one embodiment the blank 25 is separate from the carton blank and the portions 35, 35<SP>1</SP> have self adhesive coated surfaces engaging similar surfaces in the casing. When the carton is erected, the handle 30 and the partition 25 integral therewith extend within and along the long axis of the carton. When the carton is to be carried the user pulls the handle up between the flaps 15 and the members 34 are deformed, as shown in Fig. 4, until the tabs 32 engage the members 35. In further embodiments, the carton and its internal dividing partition and handle member are made from a one piece blank. The partition and handle may be at right angles to the long axis of the box.
