Abstract
862,310. Heating water. SIGMUND PUMPS Ltd. Oct. 5, 1959 [Oct. 3, 1958], No. 31558/58. Class 64(1) Water for a supply system having a storage cylinder 4 which may contain an immersion heater, is heated in a smaller auxiliary cylinder 6 by hot water from a heating system which includes a thermostatically-controlled boiler, pump and radiators. The heating water passes down through an annular space 9 in a tubular calorifier in the cylinder 6. For filling and expansion purposes, the space 9 communicates with the interior of the cylinder 6 through a bent-over pipe, Fig. 2 (not shown) or, as shown, through a space between the outer wall and the bent-over inner wall of the calorifier.
