Classes 64(1) and 64(2) In the return pipe 8 from radiators heated by water there is a by-pass 12 (between a circulating pump 9 and a boiler 1) to a'mixing valve 5 in the flow pipe 7 from the boiler so that the flow water may be cooled by the return water if necessary. The pump 9 may be controlled by a clock and by a room thermostat. Water from the thermostatically-controlled oil-fired boiler 1 also circulates through a small tank 13 containing an annular cylindrical body through which passes water from a storage cylinder 17 for a draw-off supply. The draw-off water is thus indirectly heated in the annular body the top of which may have an opening, such as a pipe, to the tank 13 if the boiler and radiators are to be charged with water from the cylinder 17. The tank 13 may be dispensed with and the annular body may be in the cylinder 17 and connected to the boiler I or the small tank 13 and annular body may be disposed at the side of the boiler in a casing, Fig. 2 (not shown), which may also enclose the valve 5 and pump 9.
