Abstract

1,197,814. Boilers. N. A. CHRISTENSEN & CO. A.S. 20 Feb., 1968 [20 Feb., 1967], No. 8285/68. Heading F4A. In a boiler with a directly heated water chamber 1, connected through a mixing valve 8 and circulation pump 9 to a central heating circuit, and an indirectly heated chamber 2 for domestic hot water, a connection 10, 11, between the top and bottom of the chamber 1 runs through the chamber 2, whereby when the central heating circuit is shut off the gravity circulation in the chamber 1 is increased. Chamber 2 is provided with cold water supply pipe 16 and hot water delivery pipe 17. If hot water is drawn off when pump 9 is inoperative, pipe 11 is cooled and the water therein descends to promote circulation in chamber 1. In a modification, Fig. 2, pipes 12 are provided between the top and bottom of chamber 1.
