Abstract
423,820. Supply and delivery arrangements for hot-water boilers. SANTON, Ltd., and SANDERS, H. C., Somerton Works, Newport, Monmouthshire. Dec. 30, 1933, No. 36682. [Class 64 (i)] In an electrical water-heater in which cold water fed under pressure discharges hot water through an overflow outlet 4, a chamber 7 with a restricted lower open end is disposed over an inlet pipe 1 so as to direct water to the lower part of the tank, and a waterlevelling chamber 9 also with a lower open end is disposed over the chamber 7 so that when water is fed into the tank, the velocity of the water passing out of the chamber 7 will withdraw water from the levelling chamber 1. When the inlet is closed, water returns to the chamber 9, thereby lowering the level in the heater below the top of the outlet 4 and preventing leakage on heating. Small holes 8, 11 are provided in the chambers.
