Abstract

1,070,513. Hot water boilers. M. VIDALENQ. Feb. 7, 1966 [Feb. 22, 1965], No. 5334/66. Heading F4A. A combined central heating and hot water supply boiler comprises an annular water jacket 3 for central heating water surrounding a flue space 20, which space interconnects a combustion chamber fired by a burner 8 with a flue outlet 11. In the space 20 is mounted a pressurized reservoir vessel 23 for domestic draw off water, which vessel is surrounded by a further inner annular jacket 19 for the central heating water, which interconnects at spaced levels 24, 25 with the outer annular jacket 3. A heat exchange coil 30 connected to the inner jacket 19 passes through the vessel 23. The central heating water circulates through flow and return pipes 15, 16 respectively, whilst the domestic draw off water is supplied and withdrawn through pipes 26, 29 respectively. The exhaust flue 20 may contain baffles or glass wool to increase the heat transfer. The whole boiler is surrounded by insulating casing 13.
