Abstract

1335267 Water heaters HITACHI Ltd 4 March 1971 6051/71 Headings F4A and F4W A heat exchanger such as a hot-water boiler heated by combustion, has an annular water space 5 surrounding a combustion chamber 15 containing a sound muffler 10 with closed ends 13, 14 and perforations 12 in its side wall 11 and which forms with the chamber wall 4 an annular flue for the combustion gases. The chamber 15 is supplied with fuel by a burner 6 and the gases are discharged through chimney connection 9; an explosion cover 8 is fitted. The muffler 10 is secured within the boiler by fixtures 18 and its bottom 14 is secured to the side wall 11 by keys, Fig. 2 (not shown). Water is supplied through port 2 and discharged through port 3.
