Abstract

A wood fire which can be used to obtain a hot water supply for radiators and another supply for running hot water has a main water tank (8) running up the back of the fireplace to the level of the hood (1) with an enlarged portion at the bottom, connected to a heating coil (6) incorporated in the fire grate with the logs (4) resting on it. A second water tank has a vertical leg parallel with the first tank, forming a secondary smoke outlet (5) between them, and terminating in a ring shaped upper portion, just under the hood, through which the remainder of the smoke and combustion gases pass. This contains a coil (10) for the running water supply. A radiator is connected to the portion under the hearth, and a supply tank is fitted.
