Abstract
1,228,402. Gas or water heaters. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. 30 May, 1968 [3 June, 1967], No. 25861/68. Headings F4A, F4S and F4T. A gas or water heater comprises a combustion chamber 10 having cylindrical and frusto-conical casing parts 11, 12 surrounded by an outer wall 251 which defines an annular exhaust passage 25, a fuel inlet 14 supporting an ignition spark plug 18 and mounted on a cover 13 closing the combustion chamber 10, a combustion-air inlet 15 containing a spiral housing 16, and a heat exchanger 27 surrounding the outer wall 251. Exhaust gases pass from the annular passage 25 to an annular space between the outer wall 251 and a perforated plate 28 between which and the casing part 12 is a silencer 29. Further silencers 30, 31 are mounted on the opposite ends of the chamber 10. Combustion air is supplied to the spiral housing 16 by a motor-driven impeller. The heat exchanger 27 may, for example, be connected to a tap or the forward flow pipe of a circulating water heater. Alternatively a gas to be heated may be circulated through the heat exchanger.
