Abstract

1498858 Solid fuel water heating boilers DAIICHI CHUZO CO Ltd 24 July 1975 [18 June 1975] 31047/75 Heading F4A A water heating boiler burning chaff, sawdust or suchlike solid waste as fuel comprises a burner compartment 2 and a boiler compartment 3 arranged in spaced relationship on a base 1, a tube 20 supplying combustion gases from a solid fuel burner 5 to water tubes 26 which interconnect a feedwater chamber 24 and a hot water tank 27; a further tube 17 being arranged about tube 20 to define with it a passage for secondary combustion air. Primary combustion air is admitted at 15 to rise through a combustion cylinder 10 and fuel is put in via lid 4. Water is supplied by pipe 39 and hot water delivered at 34. A baffle 28 having a side wall 29 and a base 30 provided with an aperture 31 causes water to circulate upwards close to the walls of tank 27 to be further heated by gases passing to outlet 35. An auxiliary grate 45 and doors 47 to admit air are provided and an alternative burner can be introduced at 42.
