Abstract

The boiler has a casing forming a water jacket. There is a combustion chamber for solid fuel in the upper part of the casing. The flue gases from this pass downwards through the grate into a rectangular smoke box from which they flow through passages on the outside of the water jacket to the flue outlet. There is a second combustion chamber below the smoke box. It has a flanged opening in one side to which an oil burner can be fixed and also has provision for a natural draught gas burner to be placed in it. The flue gases from this combustion chamber pass through openings protected by grate bars in its top into the smoke box.
