860,369. Supporting and driving twist-tubes; crimping yarns. ZWIRNEREI ACKERMANN WERK DER ACKERMANN-GOGGINGEN A. G. Feb. 20, 1959 [March 1, 1958], No. 5879/59. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) A twist-tube 1, particularly for false-twisting in a yarn crimping process, forms an armature of, and is supported by, a magnet 2 and bears against a drive means 3 which travels in tangential contact with the tube and is interposed between the magnet and tube. The tube has thickened formations 1c in the region of wedge-shaped pole shoes 2a of the magnet. The drive means may be a belt, or a thin-walled rotary disc or cylindrical shell, of non-magnetic and non-conducting material. A rectilinear or circular group of tubes may be driven by a common belt so that alternate tubes, or groups thereof, rotate in opposite directions and the group is associated with a common twist-setting device, Figs. 4, 5 and 6, 7 (not shown).
