Abstract

1,244,127. Driving false twist tubes. N. KODAIRA, and N. MOTEGI. 1 July, 1969 [21 Aug., 1968], No. 33166/69. Heading D1D. A false twist tube has spaced cylindrical magnets which lie in grooves 11, 11' so as to be repelled. The tube is thus urged into contact with a driving roller which engages the tube in a central region. The cylindrical magnets may have opposite poles at opposite axial ends, see Fig. 8 not shown and each encircling magnet is arranged to have opposed polarity or the cylindrical magnets may have opposite polarities on their outer and inner surfaces respectively, see Fig. 5 not shown. The grooves 11, 11' may be lined with non-magnetic material. A plate (29), Fig. 10 not shown can be mounted in front of the poles of the fixed magnet or magnets with the poles of the cylindrical magnets lying between the plate and the poles of the fixed magnet so that the magnetic flux in which the cylindrical magnets lie is increased.
