Abstract

1,250,933. Magnetic printing. CREED & CO., Ltd. 30 May, 1969, No. 27474/69. Heading B6C. After printing of, or display of, developed magnetic images on cylinder 1, remaining magnetizable powder 10 is removed by a magnetic conveyor comprising a magnetic rotor 7, a non- magnetic tube 5 and a non-magnetic ledge 6 tangential to the rotor 7. Each time a pole N, S passes an element of tube 5 powder on it forms filaments which orient themselves along the lines of magnetic flux from the pole. The filament tips, in consequence, move over the tube surface in the direction C opposite to that of the moving poles N, S. Friction between the powder and the tube surface prevents bodily movement of the powder.
