Class 142(4) [Also in Group VIII] A pile fabric, for example a tufted fabric striped by threading selected needles with different kinds of yarn, employs one kind of pile yarn which has had its fibres or filaments heat set before twisting into yarn, and another kind which is heat set in yarn form; tufts of the first kind unravel and those of the second kind remain twisted. The heat treatments may differ so that the two kinds of yarn take different shades on piece dyeing. Both kinds of yarn may be nylon 66 or the kind set in yarn form may be polyethylene terephthalate.
