Abstract

933,948. Knitting. PASOLDS Ltd. Dec. 15, 1961 [March 17, 1961], No. 9867/61. Class 74 (2). Fabric is produced by knitting at least two threads, at least one of which is multi-filamentary, the sinker loops formed by the latter thread being made longer than those of the other thread or threads. The fabric is knitted with two multi-filament synthetic yarns a, b, which are twisted in opposite directions and pass through holes disposed at different levels in double hole thread guides, the sinkers c having two horizontal surfaces d, e, so that the thread b produces extended loops f. The lengths of the loops f may, it is stated, vary. After knitting, the fibres of the loops may be intercombed and the fabric subjected to a heat setting process. The Provisional Specification states that the fabric may be made on a machine having two types of sinkers (high and low) inserted alternately in the sinker ring.
