Class 142(4) [Also in Group XIV] A non-slip surface for backing eiderdowns and cushions, or for use as a laundry press cover, has warp and/or weft consisting of or containing yarns having protruding loops of individual filaments; the looped filaments may be partially converted to staple form during the looping operation; some of the filaments in the yarn may be straight, and the looped filaments may be thicker than the straight ones. The yarns (whether looped or normal) may be cellulose acetate (which may be stretched and saponified) or other ester or ether, cellulose triacetate, viscose, nylon, polyester, or vinyl polymer or copolymer. Quilts. A quilt made entirely of cellulose triacetate has a backing woven from straight continuous filament warp and looped weft, attached to a casing woven from straight yarns and filled with crimped staple fibre.
