787,157. Yarns and threads; woven fabrics. HORROCKSES SPINNERS & MANUFACTURERS, Ltd., [formerly HORROCKSES CREWDSON SPINNING & MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd.] April 19, 1956 [Jan. 28, 1956], No. 2835/56. Drawings to Specification. Classes 120(3) and 142(4) A composite bulked yarn is produced by doubling one (or more) single filamentary or staple polyamide or polyester yarn(s), which has (have) been subjected to heat (at a temperature of 200‹F. to 240‹F.) to cause about 7 per cent lengthwise shrinkage thereof, with one (or more) single polyamide or polyester yarn(s) which has not been so pre - shrunk, and subjecting the doubled yarn, before or after knitting or weaving it into a fabric, to the heat ,treatment to cause shrinkage of the latter component whereby the pre-shrunk component will assume a coiled form therearound. Woven fabric may comprise the bulked yarns, of similar or different and/or opposed final twist, in the warp or weft or both and in conjunction with yarn of other synthetic or artificial fibre, such as cellulose acetate or viscose, which will be uneffected by the heat treatment.
