Abstract

844,352. Fuel-injection engines; admission passages. DAIMLER-BENZ A. G. July 23, 1958 [Aug. 10, 1957], No. 23738/58. Classes 7(2) and 7(3). Overhead air inlet valves 4, 5 of a cylinder 2 have admission passages 13, 14, preferably descending at 40 degrees or less to the vertical, and of which the passage 14 alone has a downwardly tapering helical air-whirling chamber 17. Exhaust valves 6, 7 and a fuel-injection valve 3 are provided. The passages 13, 14 may be side by side instead of one in front of the other with respect to the direction of a line cf cylinders.
