Abstract

829,946. Tool-holders. PRODUCTION TOOL ALLOY CO. Ltd. July 10, 1957 [April 20, 1956], No. 12056/56. Class 83 (3). A lathe tool-holder 18 for adjustably supporting a tool-bit 21 disposed obliquely to the holder, is supported so that the resultant thrust on the bit during cutting passes along a line intersecting the underside of the tool-holder between a downwardly-projecting part 22 arranged on one side and the other side of the holder. A tungsten-carbide or other tool-bit 21, is gripped in an oblique recess of the holder 18 by a screw 29. The holder is stepped along its lower longitudinal edge to provide the downwardly-extending part 22, which overlaps the edge of the tool-rest 26. A vertical adjusting- screw 23 for the tool-bit is provided in the part 22.
