795,729. Tool-holders; cutting-tools. DISTILLERS CO., Ltd. Nov. 18, 1955 [Dec. 9, 1954], No. 35617/54. Addition to 760,812. Class 83 (3). A tool for use in the method claimed in the parent Specification comprises an insert and a cutting tip of hard material characterized in that the cutting tip 1 is brazed or cemented to the insert 3, which is clamped to the shank 4, the shank and/or the insert being adapted to pass carbon-dioxide to the vicinity of the cutting-tip. The shank and insert are bored with a hole 6 running underneath the tip and terminating in the fine channels 7, the outlets of which are directed away from the tip of the tool.
