Classes 79(1), 79(2), 79(3) and 79(4) An agricultural tractor has a motor 1, Fig. 1, with horizontally opposed cylinders 2 immediately in front of the rear axle 3 and has a central frame comprising the crank chamber 4, Fig. 2, gear housing 5 and a forward extension 11 on which the front axle, 12 is mounted. Power take-off shafts 9, 10 44 are provided for forwardly, rearwardly or intermediately mounted implements. Clutch and gear arrangements 42, 43 are provided so that the shafts 9, 10 may be driven together or independently either directly from the crankshaft 2 at a speed proportional to the engine speed or at a speed proportional to the vehicle speed from the output side of an infinitely variable torque converter 6 in the vehicle transmission. The forwardly extending power take-off shaft 44 is mounted within the forward frame extension 11 and coupled directly to the crankshaft 2. The engine flywheel 30 is equipped with vanes 31 which serve as a fan for engine cooling air sucked through port 32 in the frame extension 11. The fuel tank 55, Fig. 4, is arranged on one side of the tractor between the axle casing 3 and a cylinder 2. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the power take-off shafts 9, 10, 44 are driven alternatively from an engine output shaft or from the torque converter 6.
