Abstract
1,023,229. Motor vehicle driving gear. N.S.U. MOTORENWERKE A.G. Aug. 6, 1964 [Aug. 7, 1963], No. 32103/64. Heading B7H. The engine 1 and transversely arranged gearbox 4 of a motor vehicle are separately bolted on to differential gear housing 5 which is supported from the vehicle body and clutch shaft 11 which is rotatable in the end of crank-shaft 10 is disengageably mounted in gear-box input pinion 12 and gear-box output shaft 14 is disengageably mounted within differential input pinion 16. The engine shown is air-cooled and arranged transversely of the vehicle and the differential housing has a bracket 19 (Fig. 2, not shown) attached to the vehicle body directly and brackets 17, 18 (Fig. 1, not shown), connected to support 20 which is attached to the vehicle body through rubber/metal elements 23, 24. Lifting rings are provided on the engine and gear-box.
