Class 139 In an electric timepiece the maintaining circuit of the balance 1, Fig 1, includes an electronic switch e.g. a transistor 12 connected as shown in Fig. 2 to a pick-up coil 14 and an impulsing coil 13 which co-operate with a magnet 9 on the balance 1. The transistor circuit operates as a blocking oscillator. The gear train to the hands may be driven mechanically, by a motor fed with the current pulses in the transistor collector circuit or by a second blocking oscillator. The coils 13, 14 may be replaced by a single dual purpose coil. Specifications 746,465 and 771,229 also are referred to.
