Abstract

1,086,306. Clocks and watches. R.W. REICH. Nov.18, 1964 [Dec.2, 1963], No.46868/64. Heading G3T. A timepiece balance, impulsed through a transistor circuit (not shown), comprises two angularly spaced permanent magnets 5, 6 on a plate 2 of the balance with their axes parallel to the staff 1 and their poles oppositely directed. The magnetic circuit is completed by two permeable plates 3, 4. Stationary coil combinations 7, 8 comprising each an impulse coil and a drive coil, are positioned as shown in the magnetic circuit in zero position. Plate 2 carries balance weights 13, 14. In operation, one portion of the flux simultaneously interacts with both exciting coils and at the same time another portion of the flux interacts with only one exciting coil. The control electrode of the transistor is connected to both exciting coils so as to be responsive to the sum of these exciting pulses to produce a driving pulse. One drive coil interacts with both said portions of the flux to produce an impulse to which is added an impulse from the other drive coil which interacts with only one said portion of the flux.
