Abstract

1,205,367. Electronic watches. UNITED STATES TIME CORP. June 5, 1969 [June 21, 1968], No.28624/69. Heading G3T. In a battery driven electronic watch in which a setting staff, 32 carries gears, e.g. the minute wheel and pinion 30, 34, maintained at all times in the gear train, on movement of the setting crown 46 to an outer setting position a disc 60 is urged by a spring 62 to couple the staff 32 to the crown 46, and a contact 101 carried by the spring 62 is disengaged from a contact 103 to disconnect the battery from the electronic circuit driving the watch balance. At the same time a detent 70 Fig. 3 (not shown) on the spring 62 engages a finger on the balance 120 to prevent its movement during setting of the hands.
