Abstract

1,041,951. Clocks and watches. UNITED STATES TIME CORPORATION. Jan. 19, 1965 [Jan. 21, 1964], No. 2373/65. Heading G3T. A dial train arrangement in a timepiece, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), includes an index wheel 15, driven by an electrically maintained balance wheel, which drives a fourth wheel 20 carried by a staff 22 having a pinion 32 at one end and a second hand 33 at the other. Pinion 32 meshes with a third wheel 35 which is connected with a pinion 42 through a friction drive provided by a spring 45. Pinion 42 meshes with a centre wheel 48 integral with a tube 49 carrying a minute hand 50. Wheel 48 drives a minute wheel 52, and they preferably have an equal number of teeth. Wheel 52 is mounted on an arbor 53 which also carries a pinion 55. Pinion 55 meshes with hour wheel 58 integral with a tube 60 carrying an hour hand 62. In a further embodiment an outer frame plate is disposed between the minute wheel and the hour wheel.
