Abstract
825,233. Ratchet gearing. BULOVA WATCH CO. Inc. Nov. 16, 1956 [July 30, 1956], No. 35040/56. Class 80 (3). [Also in Groups XVIII and XXXV] In an electric timepiece of the type having a tuning fork vibrator 1, Fig. 1, with a transistor maintaining circuit the driving pawl 4 engages the ratchet 5 at b and is fixed at a to the tine 3b which oscillates about the axis 3b<SP>1</SP>. The line joining the points a and b is normal to the line joining the point b and the axis 3b<SP>1</SP>. The angle g is approximately 30 degrees. The pawl 20 is in the form of a leaf-spring attached to a mounting pin 22, Fig. 2, and having an engaging element 21 of suitable material, e.g. a precious or semi-precious jewel. The ratchet 5 may be braked by a detent pawl, or by a finger which frictionally engages the ratchet arbor. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 761,609.
